Excel install steel security door at ABN in Leeds

The team at Excel Roller Shutters recently helped improved the security of an office in Leeds by installing a steel security door at the head offices of ABN.

The client reached out to us as their old door needed refreshing and presented a severe security risk. After speaking with the client about their needs it was determined that a steel security door would resolve their issues. Once the measurements were taken it was a simple case of constructing the doors to the clients specification. In this instance the door was made from 45mm thick door leaf with flush lipped astragal, constructed from 2 x 1.2mm thick ‘Rustec’ sheets, which are dutch folded and internally bonded together and featured a 42mm thick ‘Hexatex’ core.

The frame was manufactured from 1.6mm thick ‘Rustec’ steel and had a single rebate 104mm wide frame with additional rebate for flush lip. It had BS 7352 Grade 13 stainless steel, twin bearing butt hinges with integral high security dog bolts.

For hardware the door had:

• 1 No. Dorma 3 point c/w lateral steel a/thrust latch
• 1 No. Dorma Lever handle
• 1 No. 500Kg holding force Mag lock
• 1 No. Medium Duty Arm Closer
• 1 No. Vision panel @ 152mm x 735mm

In this instance the client opted to have it powder coated merlin grey.

Once constructed our installation team returned to the site and installed the door. Once installed we tested the door was functioning correctly before leaving the offices much safer than when we arrived.
