Project Overview

CVS Carpet & Vinyl Flooring, a trusted local supplier and installer of quality floor coverings in Birstall, approached us to replace an outdated roller shutter at their premises. The existing unit had become unreliable and no longer offered the level of security or visual appeal they needed for their storefront. 

The project focused on improving site security and enhancing the shop’s professional appearance. Reliable daily operation was also a priority, with a manual override included to ensure access during power failures.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a custom-manufactured, electrically operated roller shutter, fully tailored to the needs and measurements of the premises. As part of the project, we safely removed and disposed of the existing shutter before manufacturing, delivering, and installing the new unit.

The specifications of the installed roller shutter were as follows:

• Fitted with a single-phase, 240V, 50 Hz electric motor
• Operated via a key-switch (supplied with 3 keys) or a remote control system (supplied with 2 handsets)
• Curtain constructed from 22-gauge, 3” pre-galvanised solid steel lath
• 65mm guide channels, fully welded for increased strength and security
• Finished in RAL5020 (Ocean Blue) powder coating to match the store’s branding
• Manual override function with winding handle for use during power outages
• Equipped with an integrated safety brake for enhanced operational safety
• Custom-made to suit an opening of 2485mm wide by 2980mm high

Project Outcome

The installation was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to CVS’s operations. The new shutter not only strengthened the security of the premises but also provided a cleaner, more professional exterior presentation.
