Excel Industrial Doors and Shutters install an insulated roller shutter at JDV Engineering

JVD Engineering Ltd. specialise in precision engineering, with extensive machining and fabrication capacity. The company, who are based in Morley, Leeds, came to Excel Roller Shutters in need of an insulated roller shutter.   

Our very own manufactured Insulated Roller Shutter Doors are a perfect solution for buildings which need to be temperature controlled. They are also a great choice for those who don’t want to compromise on premises security.  

After speaking to JVD Engineering and assessing their needs, it was clear that our insulated roller shutters would be the perfect fit, with the ability to withstand commercial usage and the inbuilt electric operating system ensuring ease of use and reliability.   

The specific roller shutter picked by JDV boasts a three-phase electrically operated insulated shutter which uses a GFA Elektromaten ‘Safe Drive’ motor, also including a safety brake so that the speed of the descent of the curtain is controlled and will not over speed.  

In case of a mains power incident, the product is also complete with a manual override facility, in the form of a hand chain. The control panel included is complete with two handsets, a wireless safety edge and photocell for auto close use.   

The manufacture of the product is completed in-house at Excel Roller Shutters, allowing us to be completely confident in the standard and safety of all installations. This specific shutter curtain is constructed using galvanised steel, with each section measuring 94mm in depth, with a multi-ribbed face for rigidity.   

It also features: 

• Each panel being made up of individual sections terminated with a hard-wearing Nylon end fitting. 
• The bottom of the curtain also incorporates a plastic extrusion with interlocking rubber weather seal. 
• Top and side brush strips included 
• Insulation value of 3.3W/m2k. 

As always, we have a number of additional extras which we make available to every client. In this case JVD Engineering chose to take advantage of our black coated finish for their roller shutter and also decided to add further remote-control handsets.
